WHAT I TEACH
I teach a range of art classes and creative workshops and can design a custom workshop around your needs. My instruction includes printmaking, drawing and painting, cyanotype mixed media collage, and family-friendly crafts from tie-dye to acrylic pour painting.
Watch the video for a peek at what I offer.
Lithography
Learn about the captivating art of lithography. I teach stone and plate lithography, mokulito and other methods.
You will learn how to prepare a litho stone, draw and paint your image, etch and process your stone for printing.
I’m excited to offer wood lithography or mokulito to my range of classes! Mokulito is a beautiful art that combines elements of woodcut with traditional lithography. The resulting prints are ethereal and organic.
cyanotypes
Cyanotype prints are known for their intense blue color.
Learn traditional and experimental techniques.
This photographic medium lends itself to creative exploration and results in unique, unforgettable art.
nature journaling
Learn how to observe and capture nature with sketching and watercolor in paper nature journals.
This relaxing workshop is a beautiful way to go offline and escape the stress of daily life.
No skill required; anyone can learn to make simple sketches, capture colors that they see, and write notes or poetry.
live painting
Few things engage the public like watching someone paint. When I’m plein air painting on site, people love to come up and ask questions or share with me their own art practice. Kids are especially curious and I like to teach them about the brushes I’m using or the choices I’m making on canvas.
It’s a great addition to your event and you get to keep the original art that I make.
Relief printing
Make hand-made prints by carving linoleum, wood or easy-carve blocks.
Participants will learn how to plan their image, use hand-carving tools, ink their plates and print by hand.
Block prints and lino cuts are a beautiful way to make hand printed cards or gifts.
Children’s arts & Crafts
Fun for all ages! I facilitate hands-on creative activities for children and families. From seasonal-themed crafts to fine-arts skills, I make sure each child is seen and supported.
I offer custom craft sessions based on your needs and family-friendly activities like tie-dye or collagraph printing.
I also teach fine arts skills like drawing, painting, printmaking and collage to children and teens.
