"Stories from the Deep Sea"
I've been working on new material for a collaborative show with Anthony "weird-eye-one" DeBenedectis and Michael Shepherd. This is an exploration of not only new subject matter but also new methods and materials for me. It's unsettling, much like facing an ocean wave unprepared. Or like hanging upside down from a capsized kayak, wondering if this will be the day that you don't remember how to roll it back up. The ocean is a powerful place. It is life and death. It is soothing and welcoming. As a Jersey Shore native and avid sea kayaker, it means so much more to me than a beautiful beach. It is an allegory of fear, hope, and rebirth.
